Montreal

A tight schedule was established after weeks of planning for our Montreal adventure. My friends (Sjors & Manon from Holland, Daniel and I) headed on a early friday afternoon towards Montreal, Quebec. At first we were going to rent a car to safe my poor Volkswagen from the harsh trip and the amounts of kilometers but once we were there I was told that my drivers license wasn't valid.

This was complete bs since my license was upgraded from a G2 to a full G license. I just took my G2 license to the rental place since I was still waiting for mail of the new one but rental places are very strick on these rules and I believe this is a major flaw in Ontario's Motor vehicle Department.

The rental price also ended up being way above our combined budget so I decided to drive my car up north. After a horrible 6 hour drive through ridiculous traffic, massive rainstorms and sleepy roads we reached Montreal. It was like entering a foreign country; signs were different, building looked different. This was absolutely great and really made up for the long trip.

We reached our hotel around midnight. They gave us a sweet hotel room with a backdoor and parking spot which was perfect for quick exits. After unpacking we decided to still go downtown for a beer before going to sleep. So we hopped into a cab and bounced downtown.

We ended up on Saint Laurent, this was a unique sight seeing such a different nightlife. My friends were to tired to enter a club and settled on a patio with some beers while I made my way to Club Tokyo. The club was already about to close down unfortunately.

The next day we headed for L'Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont Royal which is a beautiful church on top of a hill with a huge chapel. (see video below)
After that we headed for Mont Royal which offers a great view of Montreal's skyline.

On Sunday we met up with my friends from Mississauga who's parents also have a house up north from Montreal. We ended up at a delicious restaurant, the food was unreal, I don't think I have ever had such good pizza, it must have been the Pesto sauce or something. The restaurant was called "Pizzedelic" and was located near the Notre Dame of Montreal which is a replica of the original in France.
